The Mekong Institute is organizing a 2-week workshop cum structured learning visit on transboundary agribusiness development and management in the GMS. Under the backdrop of increasing cross-border agricultural trade in the region, the main objective of the program is to expose the participants to the increasing significance of agribusiness towards poverty alleviation, at the same time deepening their knowledge on related policy influencing agribusiness development. A wide range of transboundary management issues such as value-chain, marketing and food quality will be discussed, with a special focus on SMEs and smallholder farmers.

Sponsored by the Yunnan Provincial Government of PRC, the workshop will be organized in the MI Residential Training Center in Khon Kaen and followed with a structured learning visit along the North-South Economic Corridor to appreciate the latest management practices in agricultural value chain.

The prospective participants are middle to senior government officials from the Ministry of Agriculture or Commerce in the GMS, senior management of agribusiness enterprises and members of provincial chambers of commerce along the Economic Corridors.
